Marriage Equality in NY?
Senate Leadership Commits to Marriage Vote in 2009
Last night, for the first time ever, LGBT New Yorkers received a commitment from the Senate Majority to vote on the marriage equality bill in the next six weeks.
Here's the statement from Austin Shafran, spokesman for the Senate Majority Conference:
"An agreement was reached to bring the marriage equality legislation for a vote before the end of the year and we will commit the full spectrum of our energies to making marriage equality a reality in the state of New York."
Empire State Pride Agenda continues to do a fantastic job lobbying on behalf of LGBT New Yorkers.
