Candidate Spotlight: Rick Kriseman
The next installment of our candidate spotlight series highlights the passionate progressive from House District 53, Rick Kriseman.
Rick Kriseman was elected to the state legislature in 2006 and his district covers part of Pinellas County, including St. Pete and Gulfport. In his time in the legislature, Rick has been a champion for LGBT issues. He has co-sponsored legislation to repeal Florida's ban on gay and lesbian adoption; to ensure no Floridian will be fired due to sexual orientation or gender identity; and a statewide domestic partnership bill. In 2008 he stood on the floor and called for the inclusion of LGBT youth into an anti-bully bill.
Before being elected to the state house, Rick was a St. Pete City Councilman where he led the way on several pro-LGBT policies.
