BREAKING: Legislators ask Florida to condemn policies that incite violence against LGBTs

Equality Florida, Senator Sobel and Representative Randolph have teamed up to introduce a resolution that would condemn policies that advocate or incite violence against LGBT people and people living with HIV/AIDS.

SB 2383 was prompted by the sweeping anti-gay Ugandan law that was introduced in October 2009. The bill would require the death penalty for people found to be "homosexuals" and requires friends and family to report suspected "homosexuals" or face imprisonment.
Senator Sobel and Representative Randolph have both been champions for LGBT equality during their tenure in the state legislature. Equality Florida is pleased to be working with them on a resolution that calls on the state of Florida, the US Government and the Ugandan Government to recognize the humanity and dignity of LGBT people around the world.
