Today, the much anticipated decision from the Perry v. Schwarzenegger Prop 8 case will be released between 1 and 3pm Pacific time so that means between 4-6pm Eastern standard time.

Bill McCollum continues to be haunted on the campaign trail by his decision to override the pleas of his own attorneys and pay a discredited witness a whopping $120,000. At a public forum in St. Petersburg, City Councilmember Steve Kornell raised the issue in the first question of the day. From The Florida Current: JUDGE STRIKES HEALTH CARE AMENDMENT FROM BALLOT A Leon County judge on Thursday morning threw Amendment 9 – the "health care freedom" amendment - off the November ballot. This is now the third amendment proposed by the Florida Legislature that has been taken off the 2010 ballot by judges.

Over the past few days, supporters of North Miami city councilman Scott Galvin --one of nine Democrats vying to replace U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek in Congress -- have taken down about half a dozen campaign yard signs after someone spray-painted the word "fag" on them, Galvin's campaign said Wednesday. "I'm a little dumbfounded," Galvin said. "They didn't paint any other signs in the neighborhood, that we found." Read more here.

Last night the Leon County commission unanimously expanded it's employee health benefits to cover domestic partners of county employees. The vote came as part of the discussion around the proposed annual budget.
