(August 21, 2014) - Moments ago, U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle ruled that Florida's discriminatory state ban excluding same-sex couples from the freedom to marry is unconstitutional. The ruling has already been stayed, meaning that any decision won't go into effect immediately.

When judges in two counties struck down Florida’s ban on same-sex marriages last month, a St. Petersburg-based advocacy group was poised to get the word out.
The group, Equality Florida, organized celebrations from Tallahassee to Key West, and flooded social media with colorful graphics proclaiming “Love Wins in Florida!”

Volunteer with Equality Florida on Saturday, June 28th for the "Countdown to Marriage" Rally! A coalition of South Florida organizations are hosting the rally to call on the State of Florida to overturn the state’s ban on marriage for same-sex couples.
