School safety is a life or death issue for LGBTQ youth, who face higher risks of bullying, assault, homelessness, substance abuse, and suicide attempts. The presidency wasn’t decided last night - and until it is, you can be certain Equality Florida joins the national demand that every ballot be counted.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla - Equality Florida will present The Voice for Equality Award to Chasten Buttigieg, and Mayor Justin Flippen will be remembered with The Legacy of Equality Award, at the organization’s 18th Annual Equality Florida VIRTUAL Broward Celebration on Saturday, November 7th.

Equality Florida, Step Up For Students partner to expand culture of inclusion for LGBTQ students

Equality Florida, the state’s leading LGBTQ rights organization, has joined forces with Step Up For Students, the state’s largest K-12 scholarship organization, to bring LGBTQ awareness training to private schools wishing to participate.

Position Statement on HIV and COVID-19 Sign-On by Florida Organizations

The community of people living with HIV and those who love and care for them is once again being threatened by a global pandemic. This time our community is ready for action based on the lessons we learned from the HIV epidemic in the early 1980s. Policymakers whose decisions directly affect the lives of persons living with HIV (PLWH) have a special responsibility to consider the potentially adverse impacts stemming from a complex system of public policy which often fails to adequately address our needs.

Equality Florida Condemns Blatant Transphobia from ​​​​​​​House Candidate Cris Dosev

TALLAHASSEE - Florida House District 2 candidate Cris Dosev recently released a false and transphobic ad attacking the incumbent office holder, State Representative Alex Andrade. The ad makes demonstrably false claims rooted in transphobia and levels other vague, unverified allegations about Andrade “bully[ing] mothers and grandmothers.” Equality Florida unequivocally condemns the rampant bigotry by Dosev.
