Picture-perfect fall weather along with good food and fun drew thousands to the 2014 River City Pride Festival incelebration of diversity Sunday.
An estimated 8,000 to 10,000 people turned out for the all-day event at the Riverside Arts Market under the Fuller Warren Bridge. At least 5,000 people turned out Saturday for the River City Pride Parade, which began at Boone Park and concluded in the Five Points Business District, said Chuck Seymour, president of nonprofit River City Pride, which puts on the event.
“This is a family event. This is not to make a spectacle or a march or anything like that. It’s just for families and their friends to come down here and have a good time and just be themselves for one day,” Seymour said.
