National Organizations Join Equality Florida In Demanding Urgent Action

SARASOTA -- Equality Florida issued a call to action following the murder of Londonn Moore, the fifth Black transgender woman murdered in the state in a little over six months.

Nadine Smith, Executive Director, released the following statement on the recent murder of Londonn Moore:

Once again, we are mourning the tragic murder of a black transgender woman in Florida. Londonn Moore, a 20-year-old, was shot and her body left in a secluded area in North Port earlier this week.

On June 12, 2016, the Orlando community was rocked by the massacre that claimed the lives of 49 people. The horror unfolded in the middle of Pride month on Latin Night at Pulse Nightclub, a popular gathering place for young LGBTQ people of color.
