Equality Florida is currently accepting applications for interns. We're looking for motivated individuals willing to make a commitment of 20 hours per week for about six weeks.
The movement towards GLBT equality cannot be won overnight. If we are to reach our goals it is imperative that we support and foster leadership in those who will continue the fight. As an intern at Equality Florida you will learn the basic and advanced skills needed to become effective grassroots organizer.
We are looking for interns in the following fields:
Public Policy- Help monitor legislation in the 2011 legislative session, participate in planning our annual Lobby Days and create a voter's guide for the 2011 municipal elections.
Gay-Straight Alliance Network - GSA interns will help empower LGBTQ youth around the state, through leadership training's and other programming.
Field- Work with our Field Director to mobilize LGBT Floridians to vote in local elections and stop anti-LGBT legislation in Tallahassee.
New Media- Work to boost the online presence of the organization.
We are looking for interns to be based in our Miami, Orlando, and Gainesville offices. Applicants in other locations will also be considered.
