Moments ago, last month’s statewide ruling by U.S. District Judge Hinkle, declaring Florida’s marriage ban unconstitutional, was appealed.

Had Governor Scott used the power of his office to stop the appeal, loving and committed same-sex couples in Florida would be able to marry on September 22nd.

I stand with a majority - 57% - of Floridians who know that it's time for marriage across the Sunshine State. We are ready for marriage - and we know that every day the marriage ban remains, real couples and real families are hurt.

Florida is ready for marriage - there is no good reason for Governor Scott to stand in the way of love by allowing an appeal of this ruling.
