Want to do something about today's California Supreme Court ruling on Prop 8, but not quite sure what?

Just moments ago, the California Supreme Court issued a decision upholding Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment prohibiting the freedom to marry for same-gender couples.

Click here to see more on the ruling.

While we all may feel a sense of outrage over today’s decision, we can be heartened by the knowledge that the day will come when marriage equality will be the law of the land. The day will come when we look back in disbelief that there was ever a time when loving couples didn’t enjoy the freedom to marry.

How quickly that day comes is up to each of us. We must translate our feelings of outrage into a long-term commitment to action. And being strategic about our actions will make that day come even sooner.

Here are three things you can do immediately:

1) Attend a rally. There are rallies planned for tonight in St. Pete, Tampa, Sarasota, Ft. Meyers, and Lake Worth.

2) Join us for an exclusive online briefing with Equality California to discuss what the ruling means to in CA and nationwide. The format will allow participants to ask questions as well as hear how leaders on the ground view the ruling and what next steps are being discussed.

3) Register for Camp Equality Florida. Inspired by Camp Obama, Camp Equality Florida, will build a bottom-up grassroots movement in the state of Florida starting with you, right in your own community.
