Equality Florida Action PAC Endorses Todd Delmay For Florida HD 100 As First 2022 State Legislative Endorsement

BREAKING NEWS: Equality Florida Action PAC Announces First 2022 State Legislative Endorsement with Todd Delmay For Florida House District 100

Hollywood, FL — Today Equality Florida Action PAC, Florida’s largest political committee working to elect pro-equality candidates, announced its very first endorsement of the 2022 election year - Todd Delmay for Florida House District 100. If elected Todd Delmay would be the fifth openly gay man elected to the Florida House signifying a breakthrough moment for LGBTQ politics and representation in the country’s third-largest state.

Delmay is an LGBTQ community hero. Delmay and his husband, Jeff were one of six couples in Equality Florida’s winning Marriage Equality lawsuit, and they made national news as one of the first two same sex couples married in Florida in a dual ceremony on January 5, 2015. Florida House District 100 covers parts of Miami-Dade and Broward County. With an exceptionally strong fundraising start, Todd Delmay immediately established himself as a frontrunner in this heavily democratic district that is currently represented by Rep. Joseph Geller who is unable to seek re-election due to term limits.

“At a moment that Republicans in Tallahassee have sunk to a new low in their attacks on the LGBTQ community, we see this as crucial and will do everything we can to help Todd Delmay win,” said Equality Florida Action PAC Chair Stratton Pollitzer. “As an LGBTQ parent and a hero who led the charge for marriage equality for all Floridians Todd will be a leading voice in the Florida legislature.”

“I am so excited and honored to have Equality Florida’s full support,” Delmay said of the endorsement. “As attacks on the LGBTQ community increased during pride month with heartless bans on transgender youth in sports and the governor vetoing funding for survivors of the tragedy at Pulse our campaign highlighted why we need more LGBTQ voices in the legislature. I am the right choice to fight back and to stand up for LGBTQ Floridians and our families. And I’m proud that Joe and the rest of the Equality Florida team believe that too.”

Equality Florida Action PAC is the largest organization and most influential organization in Florida devoted to electing pro-equality candidates. Most recently, Equality Florida Action PAC played a defining role in the breakthrough elections of Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, State Senator Shevrin Jones, State Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith and State Representative Michele Rayner - all of whom won historic races as openly LGBTQ candidates.
