Sign the Petition: Support the "Families First" Bill
State Senator Eleanor Sobel filed Senate Bill 196, the “Families First" Act, on January 9th, 2013. The Families First Act is a statewide bill that would allow Floridians to enter into domestic partnerships. Domestic partnerships would extend important legal protections to same-sex couples in Florida, including hospital visitation rights and the ability to make healthcare decisions for a partner.
On January 11th, the bill was referred to the Committee on Children, Families and Elder Affairs, which Senator Sobel chairs.
On Feb 19th the Bill was temporarily postponed until a new date. Help us prepare and please sign the petition urging the members of the Florida Senate Committee on Children, Families and Elder Affairs to support the "Families First" bill!
