Thank you for a magical night!

Last Sunday, on a beautiful evening with picture perfect weather, we set an all-time record for our Miami Gala by raising over $120,000!

A lively crowd of more than 300 people turned out to celebrate 15 years of winning equality and to recommit to the work ahead.

Singer-songwriter Teri Catlin kicked off the program with a moving rendition of American Girl. Following Executive Director Nadine Smith's State-of-the-State address, we honored the Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce with our 2012 Equality Means Business Award. The Chamber became the first ever Miami-Dade recipient of the award for their tireless commitment to advancing equality in the workplace.

Then Dave Lawrence, former publisher of the Miami Herald, stole the show with his heartfelt presentation of our 2012 Voice for Equality Award to journalist Steve Rothaus.

Steve's award read, "Prejudice relies on the darkness and for 15 years you have been a light, always ensuring the stories of the LGBT community are told with honesty, fairness, and compassion."

Steve's moving acceptance speech shed light on just how far we've come, eloquently speaking to the power and dignity of being visible. Watch a video of Steve's inspiring speech below.

The evening would not have been possible without the passion, commitment and energy of our Steering Committee and Host Committee members, as well as the tremendous generosity of our sponsors. Special thanks go to the gracious host of our Sponors' Party, Alex Gorlin. And finally, thank you to everyone who gives their time, their financial support, and their passion for equality.

You make all we do possible.
