Ian Siljestrom

Director of Health, Education, and Program Impact

Ian Siljestrom is the Director of Health, Education, and Program Impact for Equality Florida. He is responsible for fighting the extensive risk factors which disproportionately affect LGBTQ Floridians. For the last eight years he has helped to build Equality Florida’s programming, focused on enacting systems change in education, healthcare, business, and community spaces. Ian has extensive speaking and professional development experience, including at local, state, and national conferences. His efforts have resulted in Equality Florida being nationally recognized for its efforts to support school and community-based mental health professionals.

Previous to joining Equality Florida, Ian taught for several years in a Title 1 elementary school in Jacksonville, Florida as a 5th grade science teacher. He is a graduate of the University of Florida where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Sustainability and the Built Environment.
