Amelia Burgos

Amelia Burgos, from Orlando, is a graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology and a 13-year veteran of the United States Army. Amelia served three deployments to the Middle East as a Logistics and Transportation NCO leading several missions and units along the way. As a transgender woman, Amelia does not shy away from advocating and bringing awareness to her life and journey. She has spoken at events, army training, and company training. She hopes that by making herself and experience available to all who ask, she can reach as many people as possible and get them to understand that trans people are just like they are.

Amelia spends most of her free time in the theme parks of the area, playing video games, spending time with her son, and participating in sports (primarily dodgeball and kickball) with the OUT Sports League, a local LGBTQ sports league and community in Orlando.
