Jennifer A. Marcial Ocasio

Jennifer A. Marcial Ocasio (she/her/hers) joined Equality Florida in 2026 as Deputy Director of Communications.

In her role, she supports the communications team by leading media relations and helping advance strategic messaging that elevates Equality Florida’s work across the state. She works to build strong relationships with journalists and ensure the stories of LGBTQ Floridians and their allies are shared with clarity, accuracy, and authenticity. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Jenny is deeply proud of her island and the community that shaped her.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico and a master’s degree in Mass Communications from Florida International University.

Jenny is an award-winning journalist and communications professional. Her recognitions include a GLAAD Media Award, Orlando Business Journal’s 2025 40 Under 40, the Florida Public Relations Association Orlando Chapter’s 2025 Rising Star nominee, and the 2024 Puerto Rican Chamber Communications Award recipient at Premios Josco.

Jenny moved to Orlando in 2017 and has since been a passionate advocate for the Latino and Hispanic community, the LGBTQ community, the Black community, and other communities whose voices deserve to be seen, heard, and represented.
