Harvey Milk Foundation to Honor Equality Florida’s Deputy Director

Stratton Pollitzer Awarded the Harvey Milk Foundation Honors Medal




(MIAMI) Equality Florida’s Deputy Director, Stratton Pollitzer, has been named as the recipient of the prestigious Harvey B. Milk Foundation Honors Medal. The Harvey B. Milk Foundation was founded by Harvey’s gay nephew, Stuart Milk.


“We're thrilled to present the Harvey B. Milk Foundation Honors Medal to Stratton Pollitzer in recognition of his leadership through his tireless work on behalf of Florida's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community,” said Mike Colby, Harvey B. Milk Foundation Director.


The award is presented to a select group of people who have demonstrated outstanding leadership on behalf of the LGBT community. Past recipients include Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Gianfranco Fini, President of Italy's Lower House of Parliament.


Stuart will present Stratton with the Honors Medal during an Awards Brunch on Sunday, August 28th from 12:00 - 3:00PM at Yuca - Upscale Nuevo Latino Cuisine. A very limited number of tickets are available to the Equality Florida supporters who would like to join in honoring Stratton.


Tickets for the 3-course brunch are just $45 and include a fixed menu (appetizer, entree & dessert), tax, and tip. The ticket also includes unlimited specialty drinks sponsored by 42 Below Vodka.  A la carte items are available at an extra cost.


The restaurant is located at 501 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach and parking is available at the public deck at 17th & Pennsylvania or behind the New World Symphony.
