Salary Range:

  • $65,000 - $90,000 with benefits including generous vacation/holiday time; comprehensive health, dental, and life insurance benefits; and a 403b retirement plan

 

Summary:

  • The regional development leader will lead all fundraising efforts in the Tampa, St. Petersburg, or Sarasota communities. With assistance from volunteer leadership committees, this professional plans, promotes, and executes key development events throughout the year to build support for Equality Florida and spread awareness of the organization’s work. Preferably, the regional development leader will be based in Tampa or St. Petersburg. This is primarily a work-from-home position, with frequent local travel and in-person meetings/events.

 

Additionally, the regional development leader:

  • Understands the critical role fundraising plays in advancing an organization’s mission

  • Works on a virtual team and is a highly organized self-starter

  • Can comfortably speak to groups of donors of all sizes

  • Works proficiently with Microsoft Office and Google’s online applications (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)

  • Uses social media effectively (Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, etc.)

  • Works some weeknights and weekends

  • Has reliable transportation

  • Exhibits excellent written communication skills (grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.)

  • Has a strong work ethic and sense of pride in their work, and can adhere to deadlines and fundraising goals

  • Passionately believes in the work to bring full equality to Florida’s LGBTQ community

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage major donor programs in Tampa Bay:

    • As the primary responsibility of this role, maintain Tampa, St. Petersburg, or Sarasota’s current annual fundraising goals of between $500,000 and $1,000,000, and increase them year-over-year through:

      • Conducting at least 200 one-on-one solicitations (virtually or in-person) with key donors throughout the year

      • Recruiting and renewing high-level, annual donors ($750+)

      • Planning, promoting, and executing donor appreciation and donor recruitment events throughout Tampa Bay

      • Recruiting new corporate sponsors and nurturing relationships with current ones

      • Stewarding Tampa Bay supporters through (but not limited to) meetings, check-in calls, and personalized thank-you communications

 

  • Plan, promote, and execute Equality Florida’s largest events in Tampa Bay: the Tampa Gala, the Suncoast Celebration, or the St. Pete Gala:

    • Attain gala fundraising goals by securing individual, small business, and corporate sponsorships

    • Develop, support, and manage volunteer steering and host committees

    • Assist in the development of all gala logistics, including venue selection, guest registration, stage program, onsite volunteer management, and all follow-up activities as necessary

    • Assist in the development of gala materials, including print and email invitations, social media promotion, and on-site signage

    • Manage vendors and contracts

 

  • Support all Equality Florida development programs, including:

    • Corporate Sponsorships

    • Florida Council Membership

    • Annual online fundraising campaigns

    • Give Days

    • Legacy of Equality Society

    • Equality Means Business

    • Open to All

 

  • Represent Equality Florida at Tampa Bay events, including:

    • Tampa Pride, Gulf Coast Pride, or St. Pete Pride

    • Community events

    • Commission meetings and hearings 

    • Coalition gatherings

    • Other relevant events

 

  • Assist other development leaders, development events manager, field team, and other staff members as needed
