By raising Florida’s minimum wage over a five-year period, this amendment would help minimize discriminatory pay gaps among lower-wage jobs frequently held by LGBTQ Floridians and would help all Floridians better support themselves and their families.

The top-two or “jungle primary” system in this ballot measure is the wrong way to grow election participation because it has been proven to reduce legislative representation for minority communities.  It also reduces choice. For example, in 2018, it would have left only Ron DeSantis and Adam Putnam as the candidates for Governor.

Known as the “Ballots for Billionaires” measure, this is a tactic to erode citizens' direct power in government by making it vastly more difficult and more costly to put a citizen’s initiative on the ballot by requiring approval in two separate elections.
