Seminar on the Intersection of

Faith Communities and LGBT Equality

Equality Florida is joining with the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) of Palm Beach State Community College and Reconciling Ministries Network to host a free seminar and fellowship opportunity to make a difference in our community. During this event, we'll discuss how we continue to make a difference in our faith communities to work for full equality for all, and specifically those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. Workshops will include time for fellowship, worship, and learning tools that help us share our stories in ways that motivate others to action! Lunch will be provided.

Featured Guest Lecturer / Trainer: Laura Rossbert is an organizer with a focus on LGBT matters within faith communities. She started her career at the Human Rights Campaign in DC. Since that time Laura has focused her energy with Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN), a United Methodist organization working for full equality for LGBT people in the life of the church. She is currently a Strategic Director of “Called to Witness,” a campaign with R.M.N., teaching people to share their stories in a way that motivates others to action. Alongside her strategy work, she organizes local faith communities in the Southeast, including Virginia, Missouri, Tennessee and Georgia. She is also a Masters of Divinity candidate at Vanderbilt Divinity School with a focus on gender/sexuality.
