Demonstrate our community’s civic participation and political muscle by mobilizing lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied voters.

BACKGROUND

We cannot achieve full equality without support from our elected officials. Equality Florida surveys thousands of local, state, and federal candidates prior to election in order to ascertain their positions on issues of importance to the LGBT community. Equality Florida compiles the information gleaned from candidate surveys and publishes it in a state-of-the-art voters’ guide and distributed via mail and through a network of LGBT Press Partners. During the 2004 election cycle alone, Equality Florida and the TurnOut Florida Coalition educated and mobilized 350,000 fair-minded voters.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

1. Become an Equality Florida volunteer and register fair-minded voters in your community.
   
   
2. Host a House Party. Just click on the “Party with a Purpose” guide and read how simple it is to throw a successful house party. Invite your friends, family, neighbors, etc., to become Equality Florida members and participate in the political process in Florida.
   
   
3. Join Equality Florida. Our work is not possible without the financial support of people like you who care about electing fair-minded lawmakers.
