State Field Program Job Description: 

 

I. Pride/Canvass Program: 

 

- Build an annual pride plan that maximizes our efforts to capture field ID’s at all of Florida’s 25 LGBT Pride events.

-Identify progressive/LGBT events that present additional strategic capture moments in key regions and build a plan to create teams that maximize our efforts to capture voter identifications at these events. 

-Recruit and manage volunteers for all Prides/Field canvasses. 

-Recruit and manage paid canvass teams for prides. This includes interviews, creating canvasser materials like job descriptions and scripts as well as working with EQFL’s HR team to ensure that proper documentation and payment is executed. 

 

 

 II. Electoral Organizing:

 

-Manage volunteer/paid field operations for all local and statewide elections in EQFL’s targeted races. This includes, canvassers, phone bankers, vendors, ect. 

-Maintain local and statewide election calendars. Coordinate with senior staff to identify key/targeted races. Ensure staff engagement in electoral organizing – act as an eye in the sky for local elections.

-Implement portions of the overall voter contact plan and assist in creating and meeting benchmarks for electoral calendar (robocalls, action alerts, mailings, etc.)

-Engage and sometimes lead message development and electoral strategy for targeted races.-Work toward building your own election plans and strategies.

-Work to improve and hone our volunteer machine. Orlando is FL’s field hub. How do we build an Orlando machine that can be targeted across the state? What would it take to build that same machine in another city?

 

 

III. Development:

 

-Run all logistics and vendor contacts for Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Sarasota and possibly Gainesville Gala’s, mixers and other development related events.

 -Support Steering Committee Chair people and Steering Committee members.

-Assist with all Gala communications (Host and steering comm. communications, creating invitation drafts, robocalls, Facebook, etc.)

-Play support role in scheduling major donor meetings and solicitations.-Assist with logistics for Steering Committee and Host Committee meetings.

 

 

***This full time position is located in Equality Florida's Orlando Office and is availible immediately with plans to have it filled by early Janurary.
